Xenia, OHIO – October 30, 2007 – The following statement was read by Phyllis A. Pennewitt, Mayor of the City of Xenia during the press conference on October 30, 2007 that announced the affiliation between Greene Health Partners and Kettering Health Network. This document has been reprinted with Mayor Pennewitt's permission.
Today is a great day for our city! Many of us have been praying for this good news.
First, let me extend my congratulations to Kettering Health Network Chief Executive Officer Frank Perez, Greene Health Partners President and Chief Executive Officer Mike Stephens, and their Board of Directors for working together and forming a partnership that will benefit this community.
On behalf of the City of Xenia, I extend a warm and satisfying welcome to our great city.
I applaud your decision to become a part of our family. I also want to say that as Mayor of the City of Xenia, I will do everything within my realm to make this partnership successful for both Kettering Health Network and Greene Memorial Hospital.
