Intensive Care Unit
minusText Sizeplus

The Intensive Care Unit is dedicated to serving patients, families, and the community by providing high quality, intensive nursing and medical care for life-threatening and potentially life-threatening conditions. There are eight (8) private rooms, that can be viewed from the central nursing station. The four major classifications of patients are coronary, pulmonary, surgical, and renal. All rooms have bedside monitoring, as well as central monitoring, and are equipped to manage any need that may arise.

ICU Team

Medical doctors in their emergency medicine residency at the boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University, critical care nurses and respiratory therapists work as a team to staff the ICU. All work in close cooperation with your personal family physician.

What You Can Expect

When you or your family member becomes a patient in the Intensive Care Unit, you will be provided with information regarding the equipment, patient diagnosis and plan of care, daily routines of the unit, and the unit's visiting policy. You will work closely with your primary nurse to meet health care needs that you identify.

Gift Ideas

We realize the benefits of a small token to brighten a patient's stay in a hospital. Because of the special needs of critically ill patients, our ICU staff recommends gifts such as: balloons, dried flowers, cards, family pictures, personal music or stuffed animals.
