Pnemonia/Influenza Vaccination Program
GMH is the first hospital in the region to automatically offer all our in-hospital patients a pneumonia vaccine all year and the influenza vaccine from October to December.
Strep pneumonia is the fifth leading cause of deaths for patients 65 years and older in the United States. Of the 40,000 deaths from pneumonia infections nationwide more than one-half could have been prevented by a vaccine.
Between October and December GMH will again be offering the influenza vaccine to all our in-hospital patients.
