Welcome to the GMH Rehabilitation Unit., This unit is contained within the hospital, but is distinctly different from other nursing units. The physician, along with the "Rehabilitation Team", has chosen this unit for the patient to increase his or her level of independent living.
The Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation team at GMH works with patients who have had a variety of illnesses or injuries resulting in physical and/or cognitive difficulties. The team of professionals recognizes the uniqueness of each individual and views each person in his or her own environment to provide specific, personalized programs in patient care and education. We provide a compassionate and holistic plan of treatment that includes the family and/or caregiver and continues after discharge.
The rehabilitation team is dedicated to helping patients and their families achieve an optimal, functional status and the highest quality of life possible. Our small, friendly, family-oriented unit provides an atmosphere that responds to the needs of the surrounding community. The team operates within the accreditation requirements of JCAHO, CARF and other regulatory agencies, as well as seeking input to evaluate/improve program effectiveness.
*On the day of admission, the family is needed during the admitting and evaluation process. Visiting hours are not enforced this day.*Daytime hours are devoted to therapy. Therapy is not to be interrupted for visitations.
