Comprehensive therapeutic care for area children is offered on an outpatient basis at GMH.
Physical and occupational therapist, speech/language pathologist and audiologist treat a variety of developmental, learning and/pr motor problems.
Experienced health care professionals provide a comprehensive assessment of a child's physical, social, academic, cognitive and hearing development.
By offering all necessary therapies within the hospital setting, both child and family benefit. A multi-disciplinary approach is used with the therapists working as a team for both evaluations and treatment. Following individual assessment, a final report is shared with the family, the physician and the referral sources or involved agencies.
Physicians, teachers or other school personnel, as well as other area agencies can make referrals for pediatric therapy care. A referral from a physician will be needed prior to the assessment.
