Vestibular Balance Testing With Treatment
minusText Sizeplus

If you are experiencing a sensation of losing your balance, spinning or unsteadiness, you may be one of millions of Americans who experience 'vertigo' or 'dizziness.' the organ of balance is located in the inner ear and many times the cause of dizziness is in this part of the ear. Individuals with a balance disorder may also have a hearing loss in one or both ears. Ringing in the ears or other 'head noise' may also occur. In many cases, vertigo can be treated with vestibular rehabilitation.

Audiological, balance and medical diagnostic tests at GMH help indicate if you are a candidate for vestibular rehabilitation. Vestibular rehabilitation is based on individualized exercise activities that involve head, eye/visual or body movements that may influence the balance system function to reduce the dizzy sensation. Diagnostic and rehabilitation care is usually provided on an outpatient basis. You will be treated by GMH audiologists and physical therapist in a compassionate, multidisciplinary approach.

Most insurance providers will cover the diagnostic process of treating vertigo. Rehabilitation is covered by many insurance providers and GMH will work with each patient to obtain all available coverage.
